Scholarship Fund
The scholarship fund is pioneer project envisioned to give US inner city students a chance at having the Africa experience and shape their future
AMCHAM CI will coordinate with US companies in Cote d’Ivoire who will provide 1 and 2 month internships to young inner city adults to intern in activities in the Cote d’Ivoire capital, Abidjan.
The goal of this program is to give young Americans a working experience in an African environment. AMCHAM will provide the living and peering support necessary for that in a short period these inner city kids who may never have a chance at such an experience part take in a summer internship that will hopefully shape their lives.
Living, transportation, and a per diem will be supported and provided via AMCHAM-CI’s network of sponsorships. Interns will also be required a daily hour of French language courses to improve or establish local communications skills and perhaps generate interest in a new language.
The goal of this Sponsorship and Scholar ship fund is to introduce the Africa experience and create curiosity in culture and tradition which may foster a better understanding of a global and African way of life.
