AMCHAM-CI REELECTS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire (AmCham-CI) recently held its General Assembly, a gathering of all American companies that are members of the association. This year’s assembly was a remarkable event as it saw the participation of all the American companies in Côte d’Ivoire, demonstrating the renewed commitment of American businesses to the country’s economic growth.
During the assembly, several key points were discussed, including the adoption of the agenda, the approval of the 2020 and 2021 accounts, the discharge of the members of the board of directors, and the modification of the statutes and rules of procedure of AmCham-CI.
Yohannes Mekbebe, president of AmCham-CI, presented the report of the activities of 2020 and 2021. He explained that his main objective when he took office was to reactivate the Chamber, make an impact and gain visibility. The 2020 and 2021 accounts show that the Chamber has made significant progress towards achieving this goal.
The General assembly also saw the election of the president of the board of directors and the members of the board of directors to be validated and confirmed at the 2022 General Assembly. Yohannes Mekbebe was re-elected for a second term as the president of AmCham-CI, a testament to his leadership and vision for the Chamber. All the candidates for the board of directors were unanimously elected, including GE healthcare, Deloitte, Belife, Citibank, Coca Cola, E&Y, Wave, Caterpillar, and Red River. Ms. Viviane Bakayoko of Citibank was elected as Vice President, while Ms. Alice Mainguy of Red River was elected as General Secretary. The treasury will be managed by Sakinah Rauf on behalf of MANY, and Deloitte was appointed as the auditors.
The modification of the statutes and rules of procedure of AmCham-CI was also unanimously approved. This will allow the Chamber to be more efficient in the treatment of its missions and adapt to the changing business environment in Côte d’Ivoire.
The election of the new board of directors marks a significant milestone in the Chamber’s history and demonstrates the collective effort of American businesses to promote economic growth and development in Côte d’Ivoire.
