AMCHAM CI MEETS WITH THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM

The President of the American Chamber in Côte d’Ivoire Mr. Yohannes Mekbebe met with the Minister of Tourism Mr. Sindou Fofana on February 27, 2023.

This meeting is part of the new policy of AmCham-CI to use tourism as a lever to attract investment to the Ivorian market.

The two leaders discussed the prospects of making Côte d’Ivoire a key destination for American travelers. AmCham also requested the ministry’s support through sports projects such as the SOCEREX exhibition.

The ministry was particularly interested in how U.S. companies can invest in areas such as Bassam, Cocody Bay, and all the other tourism projects.

The discussions led to the need to develop a solution to facilitate the arrival of English-speaking travelers in Côte d’Ivoire.

Finally, the exchange ended with the “travel pass” project driven by Cybastion.

This meeting was exceptional, and the two men decided to work closely together towards developing the tourism sector in Côte d’Ivoire.
