U.S. AFRICA LEADERS SUMMIT

President Biden welcomed leaders from across the African continent to Washington, DC, December 13-15, 2022, for the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. This summit will demonstrate the United States’ enduring commitment to Africa and underscore the importance of the U.S.-Africa relationship and increased cooperation on shared global priorities.

Africa will shape the future – not only the future of the African people, but the future of the world. Africa will make a difference in addressing the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing us all.

 At the head of the Ivorian delegation, Prime Minister Patrick Achi arrived in Washington on Sunday, December 11, 2022, to take part in the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. He represents the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara.

 This summit, held from December 13 to 15, 2022, brought together several heads of state and government, representatives of the private sector, African and American, civil society, as well as media from all continents. It was an opportunity to discuss the issues and challenges of strengthening U.S.-Africa relations.

Important issues of common interest were addressed at this occasion. These include peace, security and governance; global health and food security; public-private partnership for a more resilient and secure African health system; conservation, climate change adaptation and just energy transition; digital connectivity; infrastructure in Africa; and the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
